Trade show mode

Capture a contact in ten seconds, even when the hall has no signal

Not every visitor will take out their phone. In trade show mode the salesperson opens LeadShake on their own phone, photographs the business card or the badge, types the two or three fields that matter, answers the team’s questions and rates the lead hot, warm or cold. When the hall has no signal the capture stays on the phone and leaves when the connection returns, never twice. It works on every card, the free one included.

01

Open it once, then forget the network

Before the event, open trade show mode with a connection on the phone you will use, and add LeadShake to your home screen like an app. From then on every capture is kept on the phone first: a hall with no signal, a saturated Wi-Fi or a request that hangs all count as offline, and the queue sends itself when the network is back. The same contact is never created twice. Offline capture explains what the phone keeps and for how long.

02

A photo first, the typing later

Point the camera at the business card or the badge and the lead exists. Type the email and a name if you have time; if not, the photo alone is enough and the lead is flagged as incomplete, so you can finish it on the train home with the picture in front of you. Photos are compressed on the phone, stored in the European Union and visible to your team only.

03

Qualify while the conversation is fresh

Rate the lead hot, warm or cold, add a note of three words and answer the questions reserved for your team: project, deadline, who to call back. On an event campaign these qualification questions are yours to define, and every answer becomes a column in the export.

04

Consent, ticked by the person who asked

A capture made by the salesperson carries a consent box. Without it, no connection email and no follow-up leave, because nobody asked the visitor. With it, the same emails go out as when the visitor fills the form themselves. The GDPR page sets out where the data sits and how to erase it.

05

The duplicate warning

Type an email already in the campaign and the phone says so before you save, so a second conversation with the same person updates the lead instead of adding a line. Two salespeople capturing the same visitor get the same warning.

06

Photos do not stay forever

A card or badge photo is deleted ninety days after the campaign closes, or ninety days after the capture on the personal card, which never closes. Only the photo goes: the name, the email and the answers stay. Two weeks before, you get an email listing the contacts that still exist only as a picture, so nothing disappears by surprise.

Questions

No. It takes a photo of the badge or the business card and attaches it to the lead; you type the email and the name, or finish them later from the picture. Decoding every organiser’s badge format is what a rented scanner does, and that rental is usually priced per event and per device.
