Bring the tag you already own

Any NTAG213 or later chip works: a card, a sticker on the back of a phone, a keyring, a wristband. Write your card address to it with any NFC writing app and it behaves exactly like a card bought here. Several competitors only work with hardware they sell themselves, which is a lock-in LeadShake does not have.

Laser etched stainless steel. It survives a wallet for years and is the version people ask to hold. It is also the slowest to produce.

How to program an NFC tag with your card link

Five minutes, a free app, and any blank NFC tag. A tag holds one thing: a web address. Writing yours to it is what turns it into your card.

  1. Copy your card link

    In your dashboard, open Campaigns and copy the public address of the campaign you want on the tag. It looks like https://leadshake.io/c/your-slug.

  2. Install a tag writer

    Install NFC Tools, free on both the App Store and Google Play. Any NFC writing app works: nothing here is specific to LeadShake.

  3. Start a write

    Open the app, go to the Write tab and tap "Add a record".

  4. Choose URL and paste your link

    Pick the "URL/URI" record type and paste the address you copied. This is the only thing the tag will ever store: no personal data goes on the chip.

  5. Hold the tag against your phone

    Tap "Write", then hold the tag flat against the phone. On Android the antenna sits in the middle of the back; on an iPhone it is at the top edge, just behind the camera.

  6. Test it

    Unlock the phone and tap the tag. Your card page should open. If nothing happens, move the tag around slowly: the antenna is smaller than the card.

A tag can be rewritten as many times as you like, unless you lock it. Pointing an old card at a new campaign takes the same five minutes.
