Demonstrations. The stand is dark, loud and full of screens, conversations happen during a demo, and the salesperson's hands are busy with a remote. Typing a contact into a phone is the last thing anyone does.
Put a large QR code on the demo screens themselves, so a visitor can leave their details while watching. Ask the questions an integrator needs answered: project type, room count and timeline. Use a visitor tablet by the entrance for people who wait for the next demo.
ISE, short for Integrated Systems Europe, was first held in Geneva in 2004, with about a hundred exhibitors. It soon settled at the RAI in Amsterdam and grew there for fifteen years, before moving to Fira Barcelona Gran Via, where it has been held since 2022. It is run by a joint venture of AVIXA and CEDIA, the associations of the professional audiovisual and home technology industries.
ISE is where the industry shows displays and LED walls, audio, video conferencing, control systems, digital signage, lighting and smart buildings. Visitors are integrators, installers, consultants, distributors and end users from corporate, education, hospitality and live events. Most stands are built around demonstrations, which shapes how contacts are collected.
ISE visitors often come with projects to equip, and the integrators among them work for end clients who will make the final decision. Ask the right questions in your form: is the visitor an integrator, a consultant, a distributor or an end user, what kind of project, and when. Those answers decide who follows up and how.
Barcelona is popular during the show and hotels fill up; the L9 Sud metro line connects the airport to the Fira, which helps with arrivals on the first morning. Prepare a QR poster for each demo area as well as for the counter, and give each person on the stand their own link.
Demonstrations draw an audience that watches rather than talks. A large QR code on the demo screen itself, or next to it, lets visitors leave their details while they watch, and the salesperson keeps their hands on the demo. A visitor tablet at the entrance takes the details of people waiting for the next session.
For longer conversations, capture the contact in trade show mode with a note on the project: room types, quantities, the integrator involved and the timing. That note is what turns an interested visitor into a quotation.
Integrators and consultants need material they can pass on to their clients: data sheets, case studies, a quotation or a demo booking. Send it within the week, and attach the document to the campaign so the automatic follow-up carries it. Distributors and end users need different next steps, so sort them first.

Shortlist who you want to meet
List the accounts and profiles you are going for. Your qualification questions follow from that list.
Open your event campaign
One campaign for the show: its own register, your questions, your follow-up delay.
Print the QR poster
A5 for the counter, A4 for the wall, and NFC cards for the team if you use them.
Brief the team
Each person gets their own link. Show them trade show mode and the visitor tablet.
Opening day
Every contact lands in one register, even when the hall Wi-Fi drops.
The follow-up leaves
Your follow-up email goes out on its own, while the stand is still fresh in mind.
A QR code on the stand or an NFC card in your hand: the contact fills in your form on their own phone, with your qualification questions.
In trade show mode, photograph a business card or a badge, add a note and a temperature, and move on. It works with no signal.
A visitor tablet on the counter takes the details of whoever is waiting while you are busy, and resets for the next person.
