Shared stands. On a regional or national stand, several companies receive visitors side by side, and the contacts end up on whoever's notepad was closest. Three days of back-to-back meetings also make the evening debrief a memory exercise.
Give each company, or each person, on a shared stand their own link and QR code, so leads are attributed from the first minute. Use the end-of-day recap to see who captured what while the faces are still fresh.
EXPO REAL was first held in Munich in 1998, with about 150 exhibitors and some 2,500 visitors. Organised by Messe München, it has been held every October since, and has grown into the main real estate trade fair of the German-speaking market and one of the largest in Europe, alongside MIPIM. It covers the whole value chain: investment and financing, development, architecture and planning, consulting and services, as well as cities and regions looking for investors.
EXPO REAL is a fair of stands, unlike the more meeting-based MIPIM. Many companies share a stand: a city or a region often hosts its developers, banks and partners on one large space, and a single stand can bring together a dozen companies. Visitors are investors, developers, financiers, consultants and public officials, most of them with meetings already booked.
Most meetings at EXPO REAL are scheduled in advance. Plan them weeks ahead, and agree inside the team, or among the companies sharing your stand, who meets whom. If you share a stand, decide before the show how the contacts will be split: each company, or each person, should have its own link and QR code to the campaign, so the leads are attributed from the first minute.
Munich in early October can be busy and hotels expensive, especially when the fair falls close to the end of Oktoberfest. Book early near the U2 metro line, which stops at the halls.
The questions that sort a real estate lead are the same everywhere: asset class, region, ticket size or project stage, and the contact's role, investor, developer, lender, adviser or public body. Keep them to a few taps. Meetings follow each other quickly on a shared stand: photograph the card in trade show mode, add one line about the project, and complete the record in the evening.
The end-of-day recap is useful here: each company on the stand sees who it met that day, without waiting for the end of the fair.
As after MIPIM, a real estate follow-up opens a process. Within the week, send a short message that refers to the project or the portfolio you discussed, with the teaser, the brochure or the figures you promised. Investors, lenders and cities need different next steps, so sort them before sending.

Shortlist who you want to meet
List the accounts and profiles you are going for. Your qualification questions follow from that list.
Open your event campaign
One campaign for the show: its own register, your questions, your follow-up delay.
Print the QR poster
A5 for the counter, A4 for the wall, and NFC cards for the team if you use them.
Brief the team
Each person gets their own link. Show them trade show mode and the visitor tablet.
Opening day
Every contact lands in one register, even when the hall Wi-Fi drops.
The follow-up leaves
Your follow-up email goes out on its own, while the stand is still fresh in mind.
A QR code on the stand or an NFC card in your hand: the contact fills in your form on their own phone, with your qualification questions.
In trade show mode, photograph a business card or a badge, add a note and a temperature, and move on. It works with no signal.
A visitor tablet on the counter takes the details of whoever is waiting while you are busy, and resets for the next person.
